Independence day.
15August is a very special day for Indian democracy and every Indian. This is the day when India got independence from British rule. For this reason, Independence Day is celebrated every year on 15 August. Today, India is the largest democracy in the world. we are going to celebrate the 74rd anniversary of the country's independence.
The freedom we got on August 15, 1947 was not easily attained. For this, we have had to sacrifice a lot and have had to struggle a long time. Thousands of freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Sukhdev, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Lala Lajpat Rai, Lokmanya Balagangadhar Tilak, Chandra Shekhar Azad sacrificed. Then we were able to breathe in free air. The freedom fighters worked hard for the independence of the country. They united day and night in fighting the British rule. He gave up his comforts and all the comforts of life. Some of them like freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqullah Khan have sacrificed the country even to their lives.
Mahatma Gandhi's movement for non-violence helped a lot in achieving independence. As a result, we got freedom from 200 years of British rule. People of every religion, caste, color and creed actively participated in the freedom struggle. Women like Aruna Asaf Ali, Vijay Laxmi Pandit, Sarojini Naidu, Kasturba Gandhi, Kamala Nehru, Annie Besant also participated in the freedom movement.
On the occasion of Independence Day, big programs are organized at the government level. The biggest event takes place at the Red Fort. There the Prime Minister of the country hoists the flag and addresses the country from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Some people get ready in the morning and listen to the speech of Prime Minister of India on TV. After that many other events are organized. The national flag is given a 21-gun salute. Similarly, Independence Day celebrations are also organized in every state where the Governor and Chief Minister of the state attend the Chief Guest.
Every citizen of the country celebrates Independence Day in their own way. On this occasion, they decorate the venue, hoist the national flag and sing national songs or patriotic songs. Many types of programs are organized in schools on this occasion..
The Indian Independence Act 1947 (Indian Independence Act 1947) is the legislation passed by the Parliament of the United Kingdom, according to which the British-ruled India was divided into two parts (India and Pakistan). This Act was approved on 18 July 1947 and was partitioned on 15 August 1949. Several bills were passed by the British Parliament in the course of Indian constitutional development, but the Indian Independence Act of 1947 was the last but the most important act for India by the British Parliament. Mountbatten Plan
Lord Mountbatten was sent to India for the partition of India and the quick transfer of power. On June 3, 1947, Mountbatten presented his plan, which outlined the various stages of solving India's political problem. Initially this transfer of power was to be given to the Indian governments of divided India as Dominion status.
Mountbatten Plan Key Proposals
India will be divided into India and Pakistan,
Bengal and Punjab will be divided and referendums will be held in North Eastern Frontier Province and Assam's Sylhet District.
A separate Constituent Assembly will be set up to form a constitution for Pakistan.
The princely states will be allowed to either join Pakistan or India or declare themselves independent.
August 15, 1947 was fixed for transfer of power to India and Pakistan.
The British Government passed the Indian Independence Act, 1947 in July 1947. This included major provisions that were carried forward by the Mountbatten Plan.
