Rakhsha bandhan 2020

Every sister waits for the day of Raksha Bandhan to tie a rakhi on her brother's wrist.  This festival is celebrated on the full moon day of Shravan month.  There are stories behind celebrating this festival.  If we look at its beginnings, it is not a festival of brotherhood, but a Raksha Bandhan of victory.  According to the Bhavishya Purana, the story which is found is as follows.

A long time ago, there was a war between the gods and the Asuras. War continued for 12 years continuously and finally the Asuras conquered the gods and conquered the three worlds including the throne of Devraj Indra.  Indra then approached the planet Jupiter, the guru of the gods and sought advice.  Brihaspati asked them to do defense legislation with chanting.  Guru Brihaspati started the Raksha Vidhan Sanskar on the full moon day of Shravan month.  During this Raksha Vidhan, Raksha Patali was strengthened by chanting.  After the puja, this bundle w.
as fastened by Devraj Indra's wife Shachi, also known as Indrani, on the right hand of Devraj Indra of this defense bundle.  It was through this power that Devraj succeeded in defeating Indra asuras and regaining his lost kingdom.

Presently, this festival is synonymous with love of sister and brother, it can be said that this is a festival to deepen the sacred relationship of brother and sister.  On the one hand, while the sister gives the promise to fulfill her obligation towards the brother and sister, on the other hand, the sister also fasts for the brother's long life.  On this day, the Rakhi sister who binds on the wrist of the brother is not just a thread or thread of silk, but she also has the power of the sister-brother's unbreakable and sacred bond of love and protection, such that the thread is seen in that ordinary thread.  .

Importance of rakhsha bandhan.

It is also a great sacred verse of unity, acting as a symbol of life's advancement and a leading messenger of togetherness. Raksha means protection, and in some places in medieval India, where women felt unsafe, they tie Rakhi on the wrist of men, regarding them as brothers. In this way, Rakhi strengthens the bond of love between brothers and sisters, and revives the emotional bonding. Brahmins change their sacred thread (janoi) on this day, and dedicate themselves once again to the study of the scriptures.

Why Raksha Bandhan is celebrated

Often in front of a lamp, the sister ties a rakhi (thread) on her brother's right wrist. This symbolises their emotional bond and the renews the vow of the brother to protect his sister.

Rakhis can also be used to celebrate other relationships between friends and neighbours. It is said that giving a Rakhi is a polite way for a girl to put someone from the opposite sex who is making unwanted romantic advances into the friend-zone.
