Best trek in uttarakhand,Roopkund trek

Uttarakhand is a land of God and hotspot of Many adventure activities.This beautiful state is the epicenter of the great Himalaya. Himalayan range like Nanda devi,kamet, trishul etc,is located in uttarakhand. Two major river ganga and yamuna orginates from this hilly state and have special significance in Hindu mythology.




Trekking is one of the most attracted adventure activities in uttarakhand. There are many trekking spot in uttarakhand,which is full of thrill.
So here we will discuss about one of the best trek in uttarakhand.

 

1 Roookund.
Roookund is situated in chamoli district of uttarakhand
It is also known as mysterious lake since human Skelton is found in this lake,which is still mysterious to researcher. It is believed that around 200 people died in avalanche.
Height of this trek from sea level is around 16000ft, which is full of difficulty. people with good health and physical stamina are advised to visit this beautiful trek. It is accessible through motor road from rishikesh to wan village,from this village the distance of this trek is 23km, which is not accessible by road.

Point of attraction during trekking

A) Bharmkamal

It is the state flower of uttarakhand. Its scientific name is Saussurea obvallata.

B)  Alpine musk deer

It is the state animal of uttarakhand.The Alpine musk deer is a musk deer species native to the Himalayas. It is named for having an externally visible musk sac between male testes. The Alpine musk deer inhabits coniferous and deciduous forests in the mountain regions of the Himalayas at elevations of 3,000–5,000 m (9,800–16,400 ft). 

C) Bugyal

It is known as nature's own garden. Bugyals are Alpine pasture lands or Meadows,in higher elevation from 10,000ft to 13,000ft.
The surface of Bugyal is covered with green grass and seasonal flower. I. Winter these Bugyal covered with snow. The bedni Bugyal lies in Roookund trek.

D) Buras

It is a state tree of uttarakhand.its scientific name isRhododendron arboreum.the flowers of this tree is used for making juice which is good for health and cure many disease.

E) Roopkund lake

The final destination of this trek is Roookund lake which is also known as the Skelton lake since it is surrounded by around 200human skeleton.

F) kafal fruit.

It is a local fruit mostly consumed all over uttrakhand.its scientific name is Myrica esculenta. It is also a major point of attraction for trekker.

The real thrill of this trek starts from wan village,which is the first step of this trek.Bedini Bugyal falls on the way to Roopkund near Wan village. Trisul and NandaGhunti are clearly visible from here. This lush green meadow is adorned with blooms in a wide range of varieties. There is a small lake named Vaitarani (Bedini Kund), situated amidst the meadow. Temprature decreases as we climb this trek.During summer the temprature in bedni Bugyal is around 7degree celsuis. The amount of oxygen also decreases as we climb towards Roookund.

So before trekking Roookund do checkup your body and mental and physical stamina. warn cloth should be taken to this trek to avoid fever and common cold.
